Last week, in July 2024, several KYVE contributors attended the highly anticipated EthCC in Brussels. Far more than just a conference, EthCC was a dynamic convergence of visionary minds, groundbreaking projects, and forward-thinking discussions, amplified by over 100 engaging side events.
The week was a great success, gaining invaluable feedback and forging new connections, further demonstrating KYVE's growing impact on the crypto space.
Let’s recap this jam-packed week…
One of the highlights of this week was co-sponsoring Archway's Sumo Smackdown & Brew Fest, alongside Warden Protocol, Dora Factory, Webisoft, Sunrise Layer, ContributionDAO, and Certik.
The event was a perfect blend of fun and networking, providing an excellent platform to connect KYVE users with each other and with potential partners.

Throughout the week, it was important to go to as many relevant/partner events as possible, each offering unique opportunities for collaboration and learning:
- Cosmos Hub Event: With dedicated workshops and technical talks, this was a great opportunity to further connect with the builder teams in Cosmos.
- Multichain Day | EthCC 2024: This event was a great fit for KYVE technology, showcasing its interoperability across ecosystems and forging new partnerships.
- Optimistic Gathering: This session explored optimistic rollups and their potential in-depth, as well as their specific data needs.
- Parallel Summit by Sei and Aptos: Not only did this event host multiple ecosystems, but it also allowed connections with teams from the Web2 space interested in expanding in Web3.
- Builder Day Brussels by Linea: A day dedicated to the builders, filled with insightful sessions, workshops, and overall team connecting.
- Chainlink Happy Hour: This was great for catching up with the Chainlink team and other data-related projects. It was great to see how the Chainlink ecosystem is expanding and how KYVE can possibly support it.
- rAIsing the Bar: Akash Network, NeuralAI & Venice AI: Alongside the magnificent views at this event, it was a great opportunity to speak with other infrastructure teams on the future of Web3.
- Injective Builder House 2024: This event was a nice opportunity to further connect with Inective ecosystem’s high quality builders, all eager to bring forward quality innovations.
- Lemniscap Portfolio Day @EthCC 7: Lemniscap, a KYVE investor, hosted a great event for its portfolio teams to connect.
- Modular Summit: Modular Summit provided a lot of more technical talks which was great to listen in on and get insights into what’s next in the modular space.
- Nebular Summit: A must-attend event for Cosmos projects! This provided great panels and talks, with a large focus on interoperability and user experience. This was also great seeing a lot of KYVE’s partners and users in one place.
Over the weekend, there was even a multi-chain soccer tournament!
To maximize opportunities at EthCC, the KYVE Foundation sponsored a co-working space for one-on-one meetings with partners, validators, and investors. These meetings allowed catch-up discussions on partnerships and planning of next steps.
Valuable feedback from users was also gathered, reaffirming the positive impact KYVE’s technology is making. Stay tuned for some great testimonial videos!
Throughout the events, it was great to see KYVE’s recognition growing, with many projects and users asking more in-depth questions about KYVE’s technology and how it can be a good fit to support their data needs. Common questions included:
Which chains do you provide data support for?
Technically, KYVE can support any chain as its data technology is fully customizable. Currently, KYVE has integrated over 20 Cosmos chains and has started support for Ethereum blobs and certain L2s.
Getting historical Cosmos data is really hard or can be quite risky. Do you support most Cosmos chains?
This is exactly why KYVE has focused so much on the Cosmos space, aiming to support as many chains as possible to eliminate these data accessibility roadblocks for interchain users and builders. KYVE already fully supports Cosmos Hub, Cronos, Osmosis, Archway, Axelar, Noble, and others.
Where does KYVE fit in the DA (Data Availability) space?
One can imagine KYVE as a base layer in the DA space, for example, below (as a data provider for) TheGraph or Celestia. It’s also important to note that KYVE manages only historical data, no real-time data, which makes it pair well with real-time solutions like Streamr or Synternet.
Will we see more tooling added on top of KYVE, like subgraphs and data dashboards?
KYVE already provides specialized tooling such as KSYNC for node operators, the Trustless API for dApp builders, and the Data Pipeline for analysts and accounting. KYVE is also working on collaborating with already existing data accessibility projects like SubQuery to provide them with a decentralized base layer for data. Plus, with the KYVE Grants Program now live, KYVE looks forward to seeing our ecosystem continue to expand with more data accessibility tooling built on top of our technology.
EthCC Brussels was a resounding success, strengthening existing relationships and sparking new opportunities for collaboration. The insights gained and connections made are invaluable as KYVE continues to meet Web3’s data needs.
Stay tuned for details and plans for the next conferences. See you around!
