Cronos

Cronos (cronos.org) is the leading Ethereum-compatible layer 1 blockchain network built on the Cosmos SDK, supported by Crypto.com, Crypto.org and more than 500 app developers and partners. Today, the #CROfam ecosystem represents an addressable user base of more than 80 million people worldwide. Our mission is to make it easy and safe for the next billion crypto users to adopt Web3, with a focus on decentralized applications in the DeFi, NFTs and GameFi verticals.

How They Use KYVE

KYVE has launched two data pools which archive and validate Cronos historical chain data onto Arweave. This provides a trustless backup of Cronos, enabling its vast ecosystem of node runners, developers, data analysts, and more to freely access and implement any of the chain’s historical data in a decentralized and streamlined way, effectively avoiding centralized, costly, or unreliable sources for more secure building and interactions.

“One of the primary missions of Cronos is to onboard the next generation of users into Web3 and provide an exceptional development experience for Web3 developers. We are immensely delighted to extend a warm welcome to KYVE within the Cronos ecosystem, and look forward to their contributions towards enhancing and furnishing developer accessibility to historical chain data.” Jay Lin, Director of Partnerships and Growth of Cronos Labs

Blocks & block results

Providing free access to trustless Cronos blocks and block results opens the doors to many data use cases. For example, via our no-code Data Pipeline, you can easily import the trustless Cronos chain data into your preferred backend for streamlined dashboard or explorer building, chain analysis and monitoring, transaction verification, smart contract interactions, and more. If you’re a more experienced/technical dev, you can check out our REST API to build your own data-sourcing solution from KYVE.

For node runners, this data pool is also important as it can be used with our tool KSYNC to sync blocks to join the Cronos network in a reliable, trustless way.

State-Sync

State-sync, a method of synchronizing with a blockchain's historical data through snapshots, is crucial for nodes on any PoS chain. However, it comes with its own challenges, notably in locating specific snapshots needed from a reliable, decentralized source. KYVE's KSYNC simplifies this process by applying already verified state-sync snapshots to the node, enabling trustless synchronization with any historic Cronos height in under two minutes, thus enhancing overall user experience and reliability.
